A decentralized control strategy for single‐phase cascaded photovoltaic inverters with MPPT ability

Cascaded inverters can improve efficiency and reduce cost, so it is widely used in photovoltaic (PV) grid connected power generation system. However, aging or partial shielding of PV panels will lead to their different maximum points (MPP). This paper proposes a decentralized control strategy for grid-connected cascaded without any communication, which capable integrating capacities series into the grid, enable them achieve point tracking (MPPT) independently. Compared with traditional centralized method relying on real-time proposed scheme has advantages improved reliability decreased costs. The overall system stability analysed, condition derived as well. Hardware-In-the-Loop test results show that all have output frequency voltage phase synchronized autonomously, MPPT independently even presence variation light condition. Thus, feasibility verified.
